Beginning Guitar — Stage II
Ashland Parks & Recreation
541-488-5340, www.AshlandParksandRec.org
So now you know the basics of playing guitar, but aren’t quite sure how to put it all together? This class will show you how to figure out the rhythm of a song, when to use a certain strum or picking pattern, when to use first position, barr or power chords and how to sing along! We will also learn to listen for and figure out those riffs, licks and fills that really identify a song. During this class, we will be listening to and playing songs selected by instructor Mich Lewis to specifically incorporate material covered in the Beginning Guitar class. Ability to play many major and minor first position chords and to read guitar tablature (however slowly!) is required. Taking the Beginning Guitar class is NOT a prerequisite for this class. Contact the Ashland Parks & Recreation office at 541-488-5340, if you are unsure if this class is right for you.
