Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries

Our Web Site and Calendar

Our web site is located at RowanTreeCoven.com, to the left of our main page is our buttons that look like books which open when you put your cursor over them. One of the buttons is our calendar. Rowan Tree Coven has very high standards of operation – if an event is on our calendar it is happening.

We are a non-profit, non-denominational, open pagan community serving Southern Oregon. We are fully run by volunteers, and we are always looking for more volunteers to manifest what they would like to see our organization be.

Our Mission

Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries serves the Pagan Community by
providing Pagan Religious, Educational and Social events to
the Magical Pagan Families and Individuals of Southern Oregon.

The Rowan Tree has a community library! Please stop by the shop and look through the variety of books that you may borrow.

Services

Fool Moon Celebrations – Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries offers at least ten Full Moon Ritual Celebrations and pot lucks a year. If a Moon Celebration falls within seven days of a holiday celebration we forgo the Moon celebration for the holiday ritual – because of this, members coming from long distances do not have to choose which celebration to attend. We meet at 6pm to accommodate families with children.

Pagan Holiday Celebrations – We celebrate all eight Pagan Holidays with ritual and pot luck. We celebrate on the actual day of the holiday as to utilize the Magical energy of that time. We meet at 6pm to accommodate families with children.

Adult Education – we offer a two year certificate on up to a six year degree
program for adults.

Education Programs
All of our educational programs for adults and children have been created out of requests from the community. We offer extensive study in Magic and Paganism for our adults, a three part children's program in Magic, and many other workshops, seminars, and classes. Our programs continue to grow and evolve as we become more familiar with the needs and goals of the community. Rowan Academy opens this year with grades pre-school and kindergarten, once we are situated on ministry property Rowan Academy Day School will include grades pre-school through 12th grade.

Community First
Our mission is to respond to the religious needs and desires of the Pagan Community by providing Moon and holiday celebrations and rituals, educational events and workshops, social events, and community outreach opportunities.

Our Vision and Long Term Goals
Our members and our ministers have so many visions for the community. In general the idea has always been to create and hold a sacred space for anyone who wants to share it. Every idea we have for the growth and evolution of the ministries is shifting and expanding year by year.

Our first vision was to provide a place where Moon and Pagan holiday celebration could begin to happen in public forum – We have done that now for almost two years. But this vision was only the beginning. Shortly after forming as a ministry on January 2nd 2007, we knew right away that we needed property from which to serve the community – ministry owned real estate that would provide a private but public space for our members and their children, A place where our children could climb trees, hike and picnic, and a place where our adults could garden, circle, and celebrate the Earth, their lives, and each other.

Securing property, will allow Rowan Tree Pagan Seminary and Magic School to function on an optimum professional level, with dormitories and class rooms. We will not only be able to accept students locally but from all over the country as well, offering boarding and work exchange.

At present, Rowan Tree Children's program offers a three part program – The Wheel; A Moon and Holiday age appropriate rituals and crafts for children, The Tree House; Earth based outdoor program, and Magic School; Mythology, Magic, and crafts. Once on ministry property we will be able to offer Rowan Academy; scholastic studies for students K through 12th grade, and The Little Rowans Day Care Center.

We eagerly look forward to the day when our Moon and Holiday celebration will be in our own space, where we can build fires, dance, and express ourselves to the Earth and to each other in an open outdoor atmosphere.

Ministry property would allow us to offer a variety of retreats, workshops, and seminars to local members as well as to interested persons from around the country, we will bring in speakers and teachers from around the country.

One event we are planning in the future is our PagenFest NorthWest, regional pagan fair. PaganFest NorthWest is a three day festival consisting of live music, food, workshops, seminars, special speakers, special events and projects and rituals, in other words lots of Magic and lots of fun.

Another of the events we look forward to once we are rurally located is community Pagan Sabbatones. A Pagan Sabbatone is a campout in honor of a Full Moon or a Pagan holiday celebration – the members bring their sleeping bags and come planning to stay the night after the celebration. Sabbatones usually run for several days allowing us to bond as a community – eating, sleeping, and celebrating together.

Thank you for becoming a member of Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries and sharing in our vision!
