If you made it to our Ashland event last July 24th-27th thanks for coming and helping make it an extra magical weekend. It took all of us to make it the gathering of epic proportions that it was!

In case you haven't heard, we're co-hosting a weekend with the Casbah Teahouse (from Tucson, AZ) who is coming to the Wellsprings in Ashland for their last stop on the Casbah Summer Tour. This weekend is kind of a Mystic Garden Decompression Party and benefit.

At our recent 2nd Annual MGP in Ashland some estimated that we had over 2,000 in atendence. As it turns out we did better financially than last year, but somehow we still didn't break even. Because of that, we are really needing to reach out to our community tribe who wants Mystic Garden Party summer events to continue in Ashland. Other reasons we are reaching out for your upport include that we're working toward the potential of putting on our 2nd annual Maui event and we're hoping to produce a professionally edited video from our recent  MGP Ashland event.

We hope you come join us then on both Saturday and Sunday for tasty Mediteranian food catered by the Casbah Teahouse and inspired sounds of our musical friends including:

Dub Studio - Kirtan with Beloved & Friends
Open Mic on Sunday - More TBA

Healing Waters on the Event Grounds -- Pool -- Jackson Wellsprings For centuries Native Americans have honored the warm springs on the banks of Bear Creek as a sacred ceremonial site. It is reported that warring nations put down their weapons in the vicinity of the hot springs. WellSprings caretakes and makes these healing waters available to the public for rejuvenation and health restoration.

Imagine........ a village birthed from our shared visions, deepest longings, and ancestral memories of what could be, holding a resonance of peace that informs, inspires, and activates all who enter. This village is being conceived and built on the cornerstones of peace, sustainability, community, and re-localization. For one weekend in mid-August, Jackson Wellsprings will be transformed into a Peace Village.

There will be neighborhoods in Peace Village, where groups and individuals with affinity for each other will congregate. Peace House is stewarding the Peace Circle neighborhood, inviting all their sister Peace and Social Justice groups in the area to come, have a booth, network, discuss, outreach, and sew some metaphorical stitches in our regional quilt of peace. Other neighborhoods include Kid Village, our Healing Sanctuary, Sustainable Way, an amazing Artisan’s Market, and our Om Dome of Visionary Art. Each will have stewards and an identity. Sustainability organizations will congregate at Sustainable Way. And with the motto of Peace through Health, the Healing Sanctuary will be a place to come and experience various modalities of the healing arts.

The invitation is to all people of good will, to all organizations here for the common good, to come together to co-create Peace Village, to bring your piece, to bring your passion. Share in the vision and join in the co-creation of a living model of peaceful, sustainable living in these changing times.

Do you know the story of stone soup? Well, we like to think of Peace Village Festival as Stone Soup for the Soul. It’s like this. We have a big pot, we have some water, and we have some stones. We’ve got a fire going under the pot. The water’s starting to boil, and we are putting in the stones. This is going to be some good soup! And it will be better still with more ingredients. We invite you to come and bring your carrots, potatoes, greens, peas, or celery... maybe you have some scallions, garlic, cayenne, or salt. Someone will bring parsley, rosemary, and certainly sage. That way we will have a very delicious and nourishing soup. A whole is made up of its parts. A village is made of its people, groups, and organizations, seasoned with a diversity of ages, backgrounds, genders, races, ethnicities, spiritual paths, lifestyles, and ideas. Each of us carries some unique part of this. Each of us has something to share. Come join in this endeavor, in this metaphorical soup. Bring your peace! 2nd Annual: Mystic Garden Party at Jackson Wellsprings, Ashland OR
July 24th – 27th, 2008

The Mystic Garden Party is a musical healing arts festival happening July 24th – 27th at the Jackson Wellsprings in Ashland, OR. The stellar world music lineup includes:

Chris Berry & Michael Kang of Panjea & String Cheese Incident, Jamie Janover of Zilla, Cheb I Sabbah, Tina Malia, Shimshai, Alice DiMicele, Scott Huckabay, DJ Dragonfly, Freedom, Sasha Butterfly Rose, Blane Lyon, Human, Fanna~Fi~Allah, Prema Mayi, OrganicTime Machine, and many others.

1,500 – 3,000 people are expected to attend due to the amazing music line up, workshop presenters and other content. In addition, massive promotions all over the west coast and beyond to publications, festivals, emails lists, and on-line calendars have reached 100s of 1000s of people. Many people consider the Mystic Garden Party to be their favorite event of the summer.

Pacific Domes of Ashland is bringing one of their mesmerizing geodesic domes. There will also be a 40ft “Medicine Sky Lodge” that allows for night time camp fires, workshops etc.

More than a music concert, Mystic Garden Party is a retreat gathering whose theme is “Creating Healthy Communities“.

WORKSHOPS: This year we’re going to have an amazing Healing Arts Village with exceptionally amazing presentations. Workshops on will beheld from 8:00 am – 6:00 PM and the music begins at noon each afternoon. This year’s workshop presenters include:

About Prezident Brown
Prezident Brown was born in the hills of Clarendon, Jamaica. His mother called him Junior Ranking because he would grab the microphone and chant at schoolyard and country dances. He was first known as Slim Brown because of his resemblance to and similar DJ style to his mentor, U Brown. ...... The most formative influence on Prezident Brown was producer and sound system operator Jack Ruby. Ruby saw something special in young Slim Brown; he took Slim Brown under his wing, re-named him Prezident Brown and appointed him resident M.C. of his Hi-Power Sound System. ...... In 1989 Prezident Brown began recording with Grove Music and Roof International but it was Barry O'Hare's label, X-Rated, that provided a home base for Prezident Brown and helped launch his career in Europe. X-Rated took off just as a massive roots revival swept across Jamaica, washing gun and slackness lyrics out of the dance halls, paving the way for conscious reggae music. ...... A 46 show tour in the summer of 2001 took Prezident Brown all over the United States and included performances at The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, and Reggae On The River. Prezident has since done repeat performances at both festivals and has added may other prestigious festivals to his list. Prezident Brown has been very well received in the United States and is building a large fan base. ......
