This fund covers the cost of a mammogram, a radiologyreading and a follow up ultrasound, if necessary, for patients with financialneed. Since its opening, the Leila J. Eisenstein Breast Center has reduced thewait time for scheduled mammogram appointments from 4-6 months to just twodays, with same-day diagnostic appointments available, and ultrasound back-upminutes away.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Rogue RegencyInn encourages the public to take a proactive approach to breast cancerawareness and prevention. Breast cancer affects one in eight women over theirlifetime and will claim an estimated 40,480 lives in 2008. According to theAmerican Cancer Society, early detection of breast cancer in Stage 0 or Stage 1can result in a 95% survival rate. Yet, in Jackson County,one-third of breast cancer patients are diagnosed in later stages.
