RedEarth Descendants will host our monthly Social/Potluck this comingSaturday, September 6, 5 p.m..  A few CHANGES to note. . .THESOCIAL WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE BELLVIEW GRANGE HALL IN ASHLAND, cornerof Tolman Creek Road and Old 99/Siskiyou Blvd. (next door to BellviewElementary School).

Another change is that instead of our usual talking circle before the feast, we will have our potluck feast first and then show Stephen Most's film, "River of Renewal," at7 p.m. as a special screening to benefit Madrona Arts in their effortsto lend support to the Karuk, Yurok, Klamath and Hupa Tribes.

Red Earth Descendants and Madrona Arts havecollaborated in this effort to bring Most's film to our community as aneducation piece to raise awareness about the salmon crisis in theKlamath and Trinity Rivers.  This is a deep, cultural/political issuefor the indigenous people who rely on salmon as a way of life.  It isalso a chance for our community to help restore the rivers back tohealth for the next Seven Generations.  "River of Renewal"is an extraordinary film that gives the history of the tribal peoplesalong these rivers and tells the beautiful story of their relationshipto the salmon.  We are also honored to host the film's writer andcreator, author and playwright Stephen Most, as he will be present at the Social to discuss the film, get feedback and answer questions.

Blessings,

Red Earth Descendants
