Ok, you’re prolly wondering what happened to us. A couple weeks ago we launched an auction for an Ice Cream Man Sponsorship that was removed the day before it was supposed to close….and make us $RICH$ . Apparently there were a lot of things wrong with the auction according to ebay’s rules and robots. Obviously I was a bit upset because the auction was a very big deal for us and we had invested a lot of time and money into it getting the word out. There wasn’t too much I could do at the time because Jay and I had to leave Brooklyn to get to Chicago for Pitchfork Fest and a stop at Comer Children’s Hospital. I emailed the appropriate people at ebay then hit up a bunch of the Ice Cream Crew and we decided to give it some time to figure out what would be best.
Nate and Terri from the Office of the President at ebay both called soon after the removal and were very apologetic for what had happened. They offered to relist if for free with all the bells and whistles additions and to revise the auction so that it wouldn’t get shut down again. It took all of us a lot of time to get it relisted but we’re back in action. We’ve had to shorten it so that it ends in time for the new sponsor to be on board for Lollapalooza this weekend. Thanks to everyone who sent in supportive emails. I always knew running a business based on giving away free ice cream wasn’t going to be easy to keep afloat. Without the help from the Ice Cream Crew and all our friends, I don’t know where I’d be right now. I’m guessing not Chicago.
