On the plaza in Ashland at lunch time, just trying to park is interesting review. However that didn't seem to be a problem for me and the parking angel, infact I got a parking spot right in front of my review destination the Greenleaf delicatessen. I expected a line to get seated, Not a problem, walked right in and  to my surprise was greeted by a smiling young lady  and ,it get's better,we got a booth right where I wanted sitting, across from the counter,so I could keep my eye on the wait staff as well as the owner, yes the owner is a big part of this establishment, They did offer me seating outside as well as upstairs. Within seconds we had water and silverware and menus and another smiling waitress, makes me feel like I was back in Los Angeles or a big city where the wait staff makes you feel like family,or better!
The waitress was kind she read the menu and explain the specials  to us,because me and my mother, yes my seventy five year old mother, forgot our glasses. She took our order. I got pastrami on rye and mom got  grilled cheese. I had coffee(NOBLE) the best coffee to be served in a restaurant establishment in years, sorry Yuban!
The food arrive in a timely manner, not to long for a busy lunch time nor to short for a conversation with family! The food looked great, not piled on top of it's self but the presentation was well planed, and with pastrami you never know just how this is going to taste or look, and this reviewer is happy to say,it tasted great. Just like when I was a kid in Brooklyn. Deli's kept flashing in front of me as I ate, arts deli, soley's, the nosh box, jerry's deli all in Los Angeles. Okay....okay just remember we are in southern Oregon,to fined service and food   like this is well, impossible. But what stood out the most for this reviewer was the food of course, but the waitstaff! , that sez something about the owner and how much he cares about the customer. I  have lived here 24 years  and The Greenleaf delicatessen was here when I got here. Thank god,I might have turned around and driven back to L.A.  So.........looking for a deli,I have a good idea where you can go, The Greenleaf............................................................................. Bon Appetit
So breakfast lunch or dinner. I don't think you can loose at the Greenleaf delicatessen.

I love Greenleaf...and Daniel is a big part of their success! They even tried making custom polenta fries for us when we asked once... Love their potato skins..and the service IS top notch. Great review.
