Where do you stand on the the Mt. Ashland expansion?
on 10/13/08 02:30 PM Published by Steve_Hauck
While I would have prefered that the association chose a different expansion plan, I do believe that they are within their rights to make such decisions under the lease agreement.  The association claims the lease grants it the sole right to operate the ski area — including expanding the area — without involvement from the city.  I believe that they are right and that the city, even with holding the special use permit, shouldn't take part in communications betw... Keep it Local
on 10/13/08 11:18 AM Published by Spirit_of_Shakti
Clearly the buzz these days is about economic crisis, plummeting stocks, increase in food and gas prices and concern for the future.  Being in Ashland for just over two years I see businesses closing at such rapid rates it is hard to keep up.  Each time I walk down Main Street another vacant space posts a huge “For Lease” sign in the window.   I feel strongly that in this time of economic crisis it is important to hold hands and support one another.  It was not until I... Where do you see the city in 10, 20 years?
on 10/09/08 03:55 PM Published by Tom_Frantz
I traveled around the world twenty years ago and I never saw such a place as this... In ten or twenty years I want to say the same thing I am saying now, " "Ashland is a lovely and simple place that accepts many different types of people and their beliefs,  and has a beautiful park for young and old,a great place to live and visit, and it has good clean water and its safe for our children's children."

Where do you see the city in 10, 20 years?
on 10/09/08 03:54 PM Published by John_Stromberg
Well, we may get the 'space' to take advantage of our opportunities or external events may greatly limit what we can do.  I'll just comment on the former scenario.  I imagine Ashland in ten years as a more vibrant and creative city than it is now.  I see OSF as even more of a national treasure because of the success of its new leadership and especially the American plays project (commissioning 37 new plays in American history).  And I see this latter theme dove-tailing with A...
