Born in Santa Cruz in the 70's and never surfed. Moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990. Worked in various Laboratories on the west coast for about 13 years doing chemistry and microbiology. In 2006 I decided being a lab rat sucked and realized I needed loads more gear for all the adventures I never had time for. So I opened up my own outdoor store. Now I have all the gear and no time.

Every day I wake up and I keep going.

Any epic adventure with my wife involving paddling a canoe with 180 pounds of cargo across a three mile lake with head winds and white caps then pack it all up a mile long trail so we can hang ten off a 100 foot cliff just for the view and the smell of the rope. Not much else get's me motivated.

See breathing fire under "Places I Eat".

West coast and east coast. Our coast is better.

Walden, Harry Potter, some of Jack London. Peterson's field guides on birds and botany. Mountaineering, The Freedom of the Hills, published by The Mountaineers. Knots and Ropes. Different magazines on gear and the outdoors.

Born Ruffians, Brett Dennon, Matt Costa, Bright Eyes, Pete Yorn, M.M.W. and many more. Mostly acoustic in the inde and folk styles. I really like KPLU. They play some of the best jazz and blues you can find. It is streaming audio you can pick up at there site, KPLU.org. They are an NPR station run out of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington.

Because I can breathe fire?

Any do-gooder group that looks out for the better good of earth or our health. Pure and true to the cause only. None of that, "We are here to save the world, but we are backed by Exxon" crap.

Places with food mostly, but for Mexican I go to Soco's in Phoenix, Si Casa Flores and Inti's in Talent. Italian, which is my blood, Vinny's and Rosario's, but my grandmother kicks their A$$ and she only works for me! I have eaten at Bangkok Benny's in Talent and then was able to spontaneously shoot fire out of my own mouth. It's good stuff! Try it.

Be self aware in all things.

Television & news media.

39,000 feet above the sea level of earth.

Tawnya, my wife and our five kids of course.

More outdoor gear and more time.
